Sally studied Textile design at Nottingham Trent University, where she specialised in embroidery.

Since graduating she has worked as a freelance embroidery designer for fashion and interiors, selling her fabric designs in Japan, Italy and the U.S.A. Sally combines her freelance work with part time lecturing at City College, Norwich.

Sally’s work focuses on detailed free machine embroidery, and often includes found fabric appliqué. Her designs are based around a floral theme with influences found in her Granny Ruby's sewing box. “An array of vintage tins containing buttons and beads, fabrics and letters.”
